Casablanca to Marrakech: Train, Bus or Private Transfer

Published November 4, 2026 by Morocco Amazing Tours

The short answer: Casablanca is about 240 km from Marrakech, around 2.5 to 3 hours by motorway. The train from Casa-Voyageurs station takes about 2 hours 40 minutes with several departures a day; coaches take about 3.5 hours; a private transfer from Mohammed V airport goes door to door in about 3 hours. After a long-haul flight, the direct transfer is the least tiring.

Taking the train

  • Trains leave from Casa-Voyageurs station; check timetables and buy tickets on the ONCF website, app or at the station.
  • First class gives a reserved seat in a compartment, worth it in busy periods.
  • From Mohammed V airport, a shuttle train runs to Casa-Voyageurs in about 35 to 40 minutes, where you change for Marrakech.
  • Marrakech station is in Gueliz, about 10 minutes by taxi from the medina.
  • A high-speed line toward Marrakech is under construction; until it opens, the classic line is the rail option.

Arriving late at night?

Many transatlantic flights land in Casablanca in the morning, but flights from Europe and the Gulf often arrive late. After the last trains, a pre-booked transfer is the safe and simple choice: the driver meets you in arrivals and takes you straight to your riad gate, where staff walk you in; see what happens at a riad arrival.

Stop on the way, or start your tour here

If you have time, visit the Hassan II Mosque before driving south. Better still, make Casablanca the start of a loop: Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara and Marrakech.
